A centennial is a rare business milestone. So for Home Bank’s 100th anniversary, BBR built a community-focused interactive program that not only spurred curious chatter, but also showed locals that through all those years, Home Bank has maintained strong ties with its community. Rather than using blitz advertising for traditional, one-way messages, BBR dedicated paid media to rolling out the History Mystery Trivia Quest. It was a community-wide game that captivated participants with trivia questions focused on events, landmarks and people from the last 100 years of Lafayette’s history. Each question featured a historic or archival photo with copy that characterized Home Bank’s role in the community at that time period. A new question was revealed each week for 12 weeks through print, radio, TV, outdoor advertising and on the Web. The grand prize for the History Mystery Trivia Quest was a weeklong trip for two to Paris, France.

The result was an engaging campaign embraced by the public. Home Bank’s front-line employees entertained inquiries and reminiscences spurred by the contest. Interest was steadily high throughout, and entries came from customers and non-customers alike.
