Savoie’s adds Liver-Free Dressing Mix to Product line
(OPELOUSAS, LA) – Savoie’s®, a name synonymous with traditional Cajun cuisine, announces a new Liver-Free Dressing Mix geared toward consumers who do not like the flavor of liver or are taking medications that require them to maintain consistent vitamin K intake. Dressing Mix, a Cajun seasoned pork and chicken product, mixed with cooked rice or cornbread is used to prepare a side dish known as “Dirty Rice”, or cornbread dressing.
The authentic recipe was altered to address the needs of consumers who have an appetite for spicier and ethnic foods, but prefer not to or cannot eat liver because of their dietary restrictions. Traditionally, the recipe for dressing mix includes pork liver, an ingredient high in vitamin K.
