We Love: Music

Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band
Easily the best live shows I’ve ever attended. Though the band is getting up there in age (they've played together for 40+ years!), I always leave with a huge smile on my face. —Mallory Joseph

Michael Jackson
I've loved his music since I was two years old, when my parents started videotaping me singing and dancing to “Billie Jean.” —Holly Lutz

The Figs
It takes a special band to capture the spirit of Acadiana in a one-hour set — the kind of band that gets fans a-swaying and that packs smart venues like the Blue Moon Saloon (http://www.bluemoonhostel.com/) But few bands do it all in vintage heels. Comprising local teachers, artists and all-around go-getters, the Figs joyously share their penchant for sugar-sweet folk roots with a lucky Acadiana. With band members fully decked out in modest dresses, every Figs set acts as a throwback to equally modest times.

The Peekers
Shreveport’s power-pop sextet stands firm as one of the most talented young rock bands in the state. Check out their debut album, “Life in the Air.”
